SPRING ELECTIONS!
THE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION WILL HOLD ELECTIONS FOR THE NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD FOR NEXT YEAR DURING THE GENERAL MEETING,MONDAY, JUNE 7, 2010 AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE LIBRARY.  PLEASE COME OUT TO VOTE AND SUPPORT YOUR PARENTS' ASSOCIATION.

Over forty years of research demonstrate that higher parental involvement is closely linked to higher academic achievement including enrollment in gifted and talented programs. It has also been found that parental involvement is a better predictor of academic success than standardized scores.   It is our goal to create a home-school partnership to provide our students with a supportive educational environment where they embrace learning; find a meaningful purpose for learning and feel that there are no obstacles.

The Parent Association of Herbert H. Lehman H.S. (PA)  & the School Leadership Team (SLT) General Membership Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month. The SLT meeting is at 5:00 P.M. in the principal's conference room and the PA meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the school library.  The meetings are meaningful and provide parents/guardians with essential information on educational programs, testing, counseling, tutoring, PM School, club activities, sports, off campus after-school activities, community activities, as well as district/regional/school policies and regulations. Lehman's Executive Principal, Dr. Janet Saraceno, attends all PA meetings and replies to all parent/guardian inquiries and concerns. These meetings are another opportunity for parents/guardians to participate in their child's education.

** Food and refreshments are available at every meeting.
